ST. LUCIE COUNTY RECYCLING PROGRAM
May 1, 2024 ~ to make recycling a little easier, a plastic bag recycling bin has been placed in the recycling dumpster area. After dumping your recycling, please dispose of your plastic bag in the bin. No other items, whether it be plastic or not, should be placed in this bin.
Effective November 2023, Waste Pro has been charging us an additional $60 per recycle bin even if just one unacceptable item is placed in the bins. Please click on each of the attached documents above to become knowledgeable as to what items are acceptable and what are not. PLASTIC BAGS, STYROFOAM AND GREASY PIZZA BOXES ARE UNACCEPTABLE AND NOT TO BE PLACED IN THE BINS. Plastic bags and styrofoam can be brought to any Publix location for recycling (cans are in front of their buildings for this purpose).
No electronic equipment whatsoever is to placed in the recycling dumpsters or the trash dumpsters. Electronics, as well as hazardous wastes, need to be taken to the St. Lucie County Sanitary Landfill, 6120 Glades Cut Off Road in Fort Pierce.
